Success Down Under!
Early in August, Jacob Wheeler and I had an opportunity to further advance CloudWave’s global reach by visiting existing clients, prospective clients, and partners in Australia. The busy week began with an incredible showing at HIC, one of Australia’s premier healthcare IT conferences, where we shared a booth with our valued partner MEDITECH.
The energy at HIC made one thing clear: Hospitals in Australia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region are investing in deploying unified electronic health record systems and supporting solutions. Major EHR companies and consultants packed the show floor, and attendees had a strong interest in speaking with us about public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions. Surprisingly, CloudWave was one of only two companies exhibiting with an additional focus on cybersecurity, indicating a segment of that regional market that’s still finding its footing. With Australia’s healthcare system split roughly one-third private and two-thirds public, we see several parallels to our early experiences in Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom over the past decade.
The timing is important, as countries like the U.S. have reached near-universal EHR adoption. Australia is earlier on that same journey, with hospitals now moving to the cloud and also concentrating on data management, security, and resiliency. That’s exactly where CloudWave excels. We’ve spent years helping hospitals navigate this transformation, and we’re honored to bring that expertise to additional global clients.
